Preliminaries

First Day Attendance requirement

FSU requires that registered students attend the first day of classes. If they do not attend, they are dropped from the course.

This is an online course so we do not physically meet in a classroom. Nonetheless, instructors are required to take first day attendence.

To meet the first day attendance requirement, you should go to the course canvas page and post to the discussion group. Post your name and a provide a brief description of yourself. If you have a personal webpage you include a link to it.

Homework

There will be a homework assignment every week. The assignment will be due on the Sunday ending the week of the assignment. No homework later than two weeks after the due date will be accepted and no homework will be accepted after the last day of classes

SAS on demand

As in STA 5066, we will use SAS on demand for academics. Most of you have a access to SAS on demand and have used SAS Studio with SAS on demand.

Most of you have a access to SAS On Demand. If not, view this video.

The interface for SAS On Demand is SAS Studio. If you are not familiar with SAS studio, this video provides a short introduction.

Organization of Course Canvas Page

The course Canvas Page is organized in modules. Each module refers to a week of the course and will contain links to the lecture and the homework assignments for one or more topics. It also contains a discussion group for that week.

First homework assignment

The first homework assignment has been published in the 01 Preliminaries module on Canvas.

Knowledge of the materials covered in STA 5066 is required for the course. This assignment tests whether you have this prerequisite knowledge. You should be able to complete it with minimal effort. If you cannot, you probably should consider dropping the course.
